New World Symphony WALLCAST® concerts, Presented by Citi, allow you to experience select events throughout the season at SoundScape Park through a striking use of visual and audio technology on the soaring, 7,000-square-foot projection wall of the New World Center. 

Bring a blanket, share a picnic dinner and enjoy the sights and sounds of the New World Symphony with friends and family! 

Each WALLCAST® concert is free to the public and does not require a ticket. 




Season Opener with MTT and Yuja Wang

Saturday October 14, at 7:30 PM

Let the celebration begin! MTT opens NWS’s 30th Anniversary Season with a blockbuster program of Russian masterworks starring piano virtuoso Yuja Wang. One of the world’s greatest talents and Musical America’s 2017 Artist of the Year, Wang takes on two musical giants with her trademark panache.




PROJECT 305 | Premiere and Celebration

Go Team Miami—together we did it! Gather in SoundScape Park for a community celebration culminating in the world premiere of the crowd-sourced symphony and video you and fellow Miamians helped create by sharing over 1,050 reflections on life in our community. Start the celebration early with free tours of the New World Center, pre-concert chats with the Project 305 artistic team and live performances in the park by Miami-based artists before the concert.




Poetic Reflections

Mark Wigglesworth returns with a poignant program featuring Britain’s finest musical geniuses. Edward Elgar took nearly a decade to write his First Symphony, which was immediately hailed as a phenomenal success. Tenor Nicky Spence takes the spotlight in Benjamin Britten’s Les Illuminations.




Appalachian Spring

Uncover a vast and wondrous heartland as James Gaffigan, Chief Conductor of the Lucerne Symphony, leads a classic American masterpiece. Aaron Copland’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Appalachian Spring unfolds with a triumphant treatment of the Shaker tune “Simple Gifts.” Vibrant Scottish violinist Nicola Benedetti makes her NWS debut with Karol Szymanowski’s dazzling Second Concerto.




Sounds of the Season, Presented by the City of Miami Beach

The Firebird

From controversial enfant terrible Igor Stravinsky comes an explosive score as magical as its folklore. Witness this rare performance of the entire ballet score of The Firebird led by MTT, from its triumphant hymns to a primal Infernal Dance.




A Return to Bach's Coffeehouse

Long before Starbucks appeared on every corner there was Leipzig’s Café Zimmermann, where the original jam sessions were taking place regularly by musical mastermind J.S. Bach and his student orchestra. With libations flowing, Bach would take the stage to perform his own works, as well as those by his admired friends Vivaldi and Telemann.




Concerto Showcase

Pines of Rome

French music authority and recently appointed Music Director of the St. Louis Symphony, Stéphane Denève makes his anticipated return to lead a flowing exploration of the music of Berlioz, Connesson, and Respighi. Cellist Johannnes Moser, joins the New World Symphony to perform Saint-Saëns Cello Concerto No. 1.




Side-by-Side Concert

The Side-by-Side Concert is an extraordinary opportunity for young instrumentalists (grades 7-12) to perform alongside the Fellows of the New World Symphony. The students share the New World Center’s stage and develop musical relationships with the Fellows as they rehearse and perform music of the highest caliber.

Gustav Mahler’s symphonies have changed the way we think about music. And Michael Tilson Thomas is changing the way we hear them.
